Shearer is an award winning documentary filmmaker who investigates controversial subject matter including Epstein's Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell; Loving Elvis; JFK: What the Doctors Saw; Sin City Gigolo: A Murder in Vegas, to name a few.
Shearer has over twenty years experience writing, producing and directing true crime and documentaries for HBO, Peacock, Paramount+, ABC Studios, Amazon, BBC. Sky, CBC, History Channel, and Discovery Channel.
She has appeared on/in BBC, MSNBC, CNN, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, New York Times, and written for the London Times, as well as appearing on several podcasts.
Shearer is based in Toronto but has travelled the world in search of exposing controversial stories.
She has guest lectured at Oxford University in England and is a graduate of the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
Sub-specialties:
Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. I spent two years investigating Epstein, Maxwell before selling a 3 part documentary to NBC/Peacock. The series was also sold in 52 territories worldwide. I then Executive Produced an adjacent documentary entitled, Banished: Prince Andrew, about his association to Epstein and Maxwell.
I am currently writing a book about Ghislaine Maxwell based on my years of investigation into the subject.
True Crime: I have produced, directed and written over one hundred hours of true crime for broadcasters around the world, winning many awards along the way.
Advertising: I have directed and produced award winning spots for Harley Davidson, Tim Hortons, Home Trust, the Unraveling Hate campaign, and mental health campaigns for CAMH. Many of the above were nominated and/or won Cannes Lions.
