I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois with a specialization in medical psychology, or the treatment of patients with disabilities or chronic illnesses. I serve on multiple leadership committees within our field's organizing body. I completed advanced training in this area. I have a PhD in Health Psychology, completed a residency in Behavioral Medicine, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Rehabilitation Psychology. I have presented multiple peer-reviewed posters at national conferences and published peer-reviewed articles in major journals, including the journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Appetite, and Eating Behaviors.

Specializations include:

-Treating patients with new medical problems like traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, etc. (catastrophic injuries/illnesses)
-Helping people adjust to living with medical problems (brain injury, returning to work, returning to community living, living with diabetes, managing symptoms, etc.)
-Helping prevent hospital readmissions through careful education and influencing health behaviors (adhering to medications, diet and exercise change, managing symptoms, etc.)
-Healthcare quality improvement, integration of mental health with healthcare services
