Ashley Walter is an assistant professor of journalism and media at Saint Louis University. She is an expert in U.S. media history and women's labor. She received a Ph.D. from Penn State University in 2022 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Utah State University in 2023. Prior to her academic career, she worked in media in Pittsburgh, PA. Her co-authored book, "How America Gets the News: A History of U.S. Journalism," was published in 2024. Her other work has been published in Journalism History, American Journalism, and The Women’s Media Center.
