Dr. Emily Zarka, PhD

Emily Zarka is an Adjunct Professor in the English Department at Arizona State University. She is the creator, writer, and host of "Monstrum," an online YouTube series for PBS where she explores human history through monsters. She also wrote and hosted an award-winning documentary for PBS called Exhumed: A History of Zombies. Her expertise extends into Gothic literature, monster history and folklore, British Romanticism, zombies, and the female authorial voice in horror and Gothic genres. She holds a PhD in Literature from Arizona State University and a BA and a BS from the University of Colorado.
