Dr. Rena D. Malik is a fellowship trained urologist with expertise in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. She is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. She offers comprehensive care for patients with urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, urethral stricture, neurogenic bladder, urethral diverticulum and fistula disease. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed research articles, multiple review articles and book chapters. Her interests for research include pelvic health conditions, health literacy, and gender equity.
She is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Women in Urology, MedChi, the Maryland Medical Society, and a member of the communications committee for the society of urodynamics and female urogenital reconstruction (SUFU), and the association for women surgeons (AWS). She is also a member of the young urologists committee for the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association.
She has been highlighted in articles in the US News & World Report and Yahoo! health, featured on Sirius XM Doctor Radio, and a host for the SUFU and AWS podcast channels.
