Ilva Tare is a seasoned communications expert known for quality broadcast reporting and fair analysis of US foreign policy in the Western Balkans, regional politics, and EU integration. A household name in her native Albania, Tare is a promoter of public discourse on human rights, corruption, disinformation, and media freedom in the Balkans. In 2021, Tare received a lifetime award from the Albanian Association of Journalists "for her tenacity in producing and promoting fair and balanced broadcast journalism, her contributions to the growth of private Albanian broadcasting and her unique style of informative anchoring."
A Master's degree graduate in Media and Communication from the London School of Economics, Tare has strong experience in broadcasting media, public speaking, civil society, elections and anti-corruption efforts as well as strengthening democratic institutions in the Western Balkans. She has pioneered a new interview series at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center focused on the Balkans and its transatlantic partners. #BalkansDebrief a social media format in #Twitter, #YouTube and #Podcast brings together regional experts to explain different aspects of Balkan affairs and regional cooperation with Europe and the US.
