Bio
Named by PR News as one of the Top Women in PR, Jolene Abbott is a value-focused leader, who has led marketing, communication and ecommerce at startups, as well as some of the most recognizable global brands. At Ember, the tech-enabled consumer brand, she grew revenue by 10x and launched the brand worldwide with Apple stores and in the US with Starbucks, Target, Nordstrom, Best Buy and MoMA to name a few. She also led the global launch in China and the UK, partnering with luxury retailers such as Selfridges and Harrods. Jolene has worked with other notable brands such as CB2, Crate & Barrel, Jaguar, Land Rover, TAG Heuer, Côtes du Rhône wine, and several beauty, health and wellness brands. She was previously the founder and CEO of a DTC wellness startup, and now owns a consulting company, UltraViolet, where she helps companies as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer. Being passionate about building best-in-class brands that emotionally connect while driving meaningful business impact is not just lip service, it's a core value. In addition to her entrepreneurial and marketing expertise, Jolene is a women’s health advocate, lifelong mentor, and is re-thinking the way companies approach culture - flipping that notion on its head to find a better way (hint…it’s building community). Jolene could talk forever about: Personal Growth and Leadership Why you should have multiple mentors, now more than ever Creating a community (not culture!) within organizations Leadership that creates a team that actually loves you Mentoring the next generation of female leaders Following your curiosity to find your purpose, build your network and land your “dream job” Uncovering your team’s superpowers and how to maximize them for success Why taking a step back to leap forward might be the best move for your career, and mental health Starting over in your 40’s - it’s never too late to begin again Marketing and Communications: Marketing and PR 101 for founders Not putting all your marketing dollars in the paid social basket Is your marketing strategy working for you? Getting back to the basics Building an ecommerce brand from the ground up Why hiring a part-time (Fractional) Chief Marketing officer makes more sense for growing brands
