Kathy Zelenock is a Member of the Real Estate Group at Dickinson Wright PLLC, one of Michigan's largest law firms. Ms. Zelenock has extensive experience representing commercial mortgage lenders on a national basis, both for commercial mortgage-backed securitization (CMBS) and for purchase by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. She has closed or supervised the closing of billions of dollars of commercial mortgage loans for a variety of property types (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, warehouse/self-storage, manufactured housing communities, etc.). She is also expert in matters related to commercial mortgage loan workouts and foreclosures, having worked with troubled borrowers and developers, as well as enforcing lenders.

She has been a speaker for numerous national industry conferences on topics related to her practice. In addition, she has published or has been quoted in many articles concerning the real estate industry and its business practices. She is active in the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA) and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), as well as business and real-estate committees of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan.

Ms. Zelenock has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Michigan Super Lawyers, and DBusiness (a southeastern Michigan business magazine) as a top attorney in real estate. She is also "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell (the highest available rating).

Ms. Zelenock also was founder and CEO of e-Cognita Technologies, a company that developed transaction management and document automation software for the commercial mortgage industry. From that experience, she has expertise in document automation software and loan closing process management, as well as electronic mortgages and electronic recording of mortgages.

She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Notre Dame Law School.
