I’m Sophia and I just turned 60. I’ve been a resale fashion stylist as far back as I can remember. In 2010 I opened a brick & mortar shop in San Diego called Make Good. I sold handmade goods by over 150 local artists mainly using recycle goods & resale designer clothing providing high-end, like-new clothing at affordable prices. This created opportunities for the less-affluent to dress exceptionally well while making a small dent in the high environmental and human cost of fast-fashion and textile manufacturing. My health issues forced the closing of Make Good’s storefront in 2017, and I transitioned to focus solely on resale clothing via an online business model. Since then, Make Good has grown its inventory and following, while reducing the environmental impact of clothing manufacturing by rescuing and giving new life to great clothing, at affordable prices.
Recognition of Make Good’s achievements include:

My love for the planet is what fuels my mission to save clothes from the landfill and to inform people about the disastrous effects of the fast fashion industry, and why we need to reduce carbon emissions as it relates to the climate crisis. I’ve converted many people to only buy used clothes. I’m very proud of that.
I stopped dyeing my hair during the pandemic and have embraced my silver hair. Im plus size. All that to say I’m not the “stereotypical” fashion influencer but I do have close to 8,000 instagram followers so I’m breaking the mold.
